Also, for some reason I was thinking of this: if SSNL has a theme song, it clearly needs to be "Small Stakes" by Spoon. Not up for debate.

[/ QUOTE ]

wow. yes. song here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tsHlKYElKX0

"Small Stakes Give You Blues
But You Don't Feel Taken Don't Think You've Been Used
Cause It's Alright Friday Night To Sunday
It Feels Alright Keeps Your Mind On The Page

Oh Yeah Small Stakes Ensure You The Minimum Blues
But You Don't Feel Taken And You Don't Feel Abused
Small Stakes Tell You That There's Nothing Can Do
Can't Think Big, Can't Think Past One Or Two And Awlright!"

Their Underdog song has been on XM a lot lately, I like it.

Hyachachacha

I have spinal disc herniation. I injured my back doing deadlifts and lately my left leg has been killing me.
I got a CAT scan this morning which should tell me how serious it is. Hopefully it won't require surgery, which apparently doesn't even work all the time. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Ouch. Do everything you can to avoid surgery. I know back doctors who would never elect for lower back surgery because total relief is not always guaranteed. Get a few opinions. When I hurt my back I went to 3 doctors before I found one who identified my exact problem and gave me a cortisone injection that fixed things up for the time being.

Nath,

Nice song selection. Of course, AJ and I prefer High Hopes, but I will defer to your wisdom on this matter.

ike,

Sick ring bro. Well done! She will love it. My wife has petite hands so she hates big rings, but loves channel set diamonds.

Worm,

If you dig this chick, then just take a break. Maybe she will come around eventually, but the timing just isn't right. Oh yeah, LOL at any woman being low maintenance over the long run.

Lol, I realize that any woman is not low maintenance over the long haul, I was just making a comparison to my other relationships. And yeah I'm def. taking a break, if it works out, it works out. Not worrying about it anymore.

Worm,

In all seriousness, I wish you well. You seem like you are able to step back and analyze a situation without injecting a lot of personal bias. That trait will take you far in life.

Well, at least you have great doctors there in Iceland, so if you do have to go under the knife, at least you are sure to be in good hands.

Silver lining,
the doctor that examined me is a tall blond 25-ish looking hottie. Kinda reminded me of Katherin Heigl from Grey's Anatomy. And I got her cell-phone number to discuss the results of my CAT-scan. Opening?

Going to visit McGill friends/party in Montreal for a weekend as a kind of nice way to celebrate my best month by 3x ever (jusssst broke $10k, shipit) should be megasick. Anyone have recommendations for places to eat? Not looking for anything crazy expensive but I haven't had a really nice meal in a long time. Indian or thai food gets bonus points.

So still not talking to the ex.
Kinda feel like getting hammered and taking the chick from last week out for another spin.
Still considering trying to get ex to go to my Holiday party with me.
Chick from last week - DEFINITELY - just FTF thing - no long term and it's not close (she wears like - gold necklace and bracelets and [censored] so she's OUT - but hawt).

I couldn't figure out what the [censored] you were asking.

Just do what you want. Don't pawn off your responsibility or indecisiveness on us. (That sounds harsher than it should, but it's good advice.)

Solid advice. Just go with your own logic; if that means leading with the lil fireman than indeed........."Superman that ho".

Seriously -enjoy life for what its worse; def. don't stress the lil things.

<3 my GFY voters.

Confusing wording - guess it might leave one wondering "who the [censored] is the big head clown and are you two part of the worlds dumbest think tank?"

Yes, we are.

Question is really if I should a) Hang out with girl from last weekend again b) Take a step back and figure out exactly what's going on w/ the long time on again off again c) Neither - go out and find somthing that might actually grow into somthing meaningful rather than the choice "a" FTF d) Snipe, I find you shallow and pedantic. I also find this meatloaf shallow and pedantic.

Good advice from both posters - however, as I <3 ssnl these days and my brain is half scrambled from last night's North Beach Booze Fest (god I hate that place) - I though the voice of the people would be a good check / balance for my diminished mental capacity.

c) is definitely not an option if you're asking b)
and i don't like b) because its a waste of an evening.

so its either a) or e) hit up your local massage parlour; get a nut off.....and go from there

nath 11-30-2007 05:28 PM

Re: ***SSNL LIFE THREAD NOV***

A is the best choice, followed by C, but HoldEmNewby is right, if you're even thinking B is an option, you won't be able to do C

A will help you get over B so you can pursue C, FTW
