Ike, your more recent comments have made me see your point of view a little clearer, but it doesn't change the way you acted when the scandal was first breaking, and I think most people attacking you are still pretty hot over that..

I lost a lot of interest in the story after your comments, as a lot of people probably did, and it seems to me that was your motive since it was unlikely any money was going to be recovered at that time. Now that AP is committed to paying, you're all over the threads again, and I question whether you'd even have any interest in this whole mess had you not personally lost money.

In my defence, I haven't read much of the last two days material.

Before that, the last post (before these last few, obv) I read of yours was talking about withdrawing $60k (?) and leaving some behind.

h11,

your thinking there doesn't seem very strong.

1) 10 days profit is a significant amount of money for many people.

2) the consideration of whether it is the most +EV deal is based on this:

compare:
(expected profit playing at absolute) - (expected profit playing elsewhere)

to:
(chance your money is stolen)

if you're winning at 5big blinds/100, and the cheaters can take a stack off you by calling your otherwise well-timed big bluff, they only need to do it once every 2,000 hands to make you into a break-even player.

3) a large chunk of the "value" of AP is in the value of their brand. their brand is obviously worth less today than it was several weeks ago.

I agree that for some the risk would be larger than it is for me, but for most of us we are unlikely to run into Mr Evil at our tables, Mr Evil is likely to be in jail or on the run right now, Mr Big who owns AP by sheer self interest is no doubt working hard to make sure no more cheating pops up, my losses in the extremely unlikely event I do find myself seated with Mr Evil will be small, given that I don't put much money at risk in the games I play, none of that Devil's NL stuff for me, and leaving AP will have a REAL cost, not a fantasized possible cost. But I do encourage all two plus two players to avoid AP - while I'm playing there - so I concede you're a lot smarter than I am.

So are we going to just let this die and let AP get away with continues BS statements, lies, and coverups?

I'm wondering if now is the right time for Nat or Adanthar to come forth with some of the bullets they have been holding back...

From the ABC article jman posted:

The Quebec provincial police told ABC News they were looking into the matter but could not comment on a pending investigation.

Frank Catania, a former gaming commissioner in New Jersey who helped the Kahnawake Gaming establish its regulations, said under commission rules AbsolutePoker could lose its license and individuals could be turned over to Canadian authorities.

"If anything was done illegally or dishonestly, the company could have their license revoked, the money could be refunded or legal ramifications could happen," he said.

Online poker, Cantania said, falls under a "hazy gray area" of U.S. law. Wire laws, he said, are generally interpreted to cover sports betting and not games of skill.

Most online casino and poker sites, however, are located offshore and are subject only to the regulations in their host nations. Some countries, Cantania said, are better than others.

So they rigged the car drawing and stole the popcorn money that was supposed to go to charity?

Lying is like breathing to these people. It comes naturally and they would die without it.

This cause of exposing them, no matter how futile, will be better served when we start ignoring their statements and judging them on their actions. The people running this site clearly have no moral compass and are immune from the consequences of their betrayal.

Money, it's a gas. Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.

-When the scandal was first breaking, you weren't in the threads.
-Any idea that I had some master plan to cool the heat on AP is completely ridiculous. What happened was a lot of people where making grandiose predictions/claims/speculation with little evidence to back it up. I got heated with some people I shouldn't of bothered with, and a few guesses turned out to be correct. I took a TO from posting in the threads (but still read up), plus I had a game and other weekend activities.
-Would I have interest in this had I lost money? Yes. Would it be the same level of interest if I hadn't? Obv not. I don't see how this is relevant, as I'm sure you are as interested as me right now, but I don't hold that against you.
