I think the outcomes, in order of likeliness go like this:

Missouri by <10
Missouri by >10
Kansas by <10

Kansas by >10

Kansas 44
Missouri 28

Chase Daniel is better than Reesing, but Reesing is more reliable/consistent... if that makes any sense. I can see Daniel throwing an interception or two in an effort to make a "big play", while Reesing will take what Mizzou's defense gives him. The Jayhawks lead the nation in takeaways, and I'm banking on a turnover in their favor to give them a slight edge late that they will hold on to.

Also, Kansas will be playing with a fire that Mizzou won't be able to match. Although both teams are playing for the same prize, Kansas has to feel ripped off at this point in terms of the polls. If any other Big 12 team (including Missouri) was 11-0, they would be ranked #1 without question. They will be out to prove all the pollsters and haters wrong.

I think that the key to this game will be Missouri's ability to deal with adversity. Unlike in the past, the tigers have been able to come back with their A game after a few bad drives and put up points when it matters the most. This team is very good under pressure. I think that the importance and intensity of the game will be in Mizzou's favor because they have played a harder schedule and are more used to playing tough games. KU could definitely be a clutch team, but with so many blowouts im still not sure how they play when things start to turn against the Jayhawks.

Comparing when both teams played Kansas State, Missouri led by 3 at halftime and came back to score 4 touchdowns in the second half for a blowout. Ku led K state at halftime by 7 and lost that lead in the second half before scoring two field goals in the 4th for the win. Its not too much evidence, but i think that Mizzou still has the mental edge in this one. Either way I am very excited to watch this game.

ku/ksu was tied at halftime and the score does not justify the game as we went for a 4th down and missed, dropped a TD catch, and threw a fluke int in our own redzone. I guess you could look at just about any game like that though. Still can't wait until Saturday! holla if you're going

inteesting:

"On the day in 1991 when Kansas running back Tony Sands rushed for a then-NCAA record 396 yards against the Tigers, the announced crowd in Lawrence was 28,000, some 22,000 under capacity."

This really surprised me as I was getting the impression that this super-intense rivalry was always a sell-out and was more important than life itself in both states and has been for quite some time.

The book referenced in the article only rated it as the 21st best college-football rivalry.

That seems like what they're saying.

Well both football teams have been pretty awful more often than not over the last 40 years. So that takes some of the steam out of it. Basketball has been where the intensity lies in recent times.
