First round picks this year usually go for 2nd round picks last year. I don't see how it was that awful. Honestly, VD is decent, Willis is good, but you guys are going to now have to overpay for a potential good player for the next 5 years or so. With all the players that the Pats already have it's going to be hard to squeeze a huge salary for a guy who probally either won't play much or who will have to develop. Not like they can't trade it for a lot of value though. This draft is decent but noone really stands out as amazing other than McFadden to me.

I don't think it was an awful deal for the 49ers, just a very good one for the Pats. don't forget we also got Randy Moss out of it [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

re: the pick, obv I do think the Pats will try to trade down. the sweet spot is in the late teens/early 20's, and if they can trade say the 7th pick for the 21st and 25th, they would do it
