I think you guys value him way higher than I do. Am I the only one that feels as if hes gonna struggle in Min?

Jefferson was the #18 overall player selected. I am willing to bet anyone that he will be less than the 18th best player under our scoring system this year according to basketball monster. You interested?

No, I'm not. As I've said before, value is relative on the Monster. Besides, the question you asked wasn't "is he a top 18 monster player", it was does anyone else think he will struggle in minnessota. Two different questions.

Obviously by "struggle" I didn't mean that he was going to turn into Kwame Brown. I just didn't think he was as good as 18th overall. What do you mean by "value is relative on Monster"?

Just because someone is ranked 18th on Monster doesnt mean absolutely that anyone would trade you whoever happens to be ranked 40th on monster for them for example.

agreed. For one theres age. And for two, you have to construct your team in a certain manner(for example a lot of people might not be willing to offer fair trade value for Dwight Howard because his FT% causes you to change your team so much).

However in general, the monster rankings are a completely fair rating system, no? If not, what exactly is wrong with them?

In general. Yes. But teams aren't constructed in general (well, a few super teams in the other league have been, but the vast majority don't have that luxury).

It's a good *general* barometer though, I agree.

serg,

You got round 14 wrong. Theo Ratliff was worst by far. That was the biggest 'wtf' pick in my mind.

I think I actually read somewhere that he is healthier than he's been in a long time, and may split time with Blount pretty evenly. Given position scarcity and Theo's shot-blocking ability, even a moderate chance that he is not completely washed up makes it a halfway decent pick IMO.
