The person who gets sent home each week is not always the worst chef as judging is done by both the panel and producers. Why do you think Howie stayed around for so long?

Collichio has gone on the record many times saying that the final decision is in the judges' hands (no producer influence) and I would say that this season's results corroborate this.

I really like Coliccio, but I have to regard all such statements with a grain of salt. It's basically his job to say this whether it is true or not. It makes him look good, the producers look good, the show look good, and the contestants look good. For most of the world, and certainly for entertainment product, that kind of thing is more than good enough and often better than whatever the truth of a situation might be.

If you were a producer and Coliccio did not say that when the opportunity arose, you would probably be one very unhappy guy and likely make it known in no uncertain terms.

All,

Casey: MacBook Pro
Casey: Plane tix anywhere in the world
Hung: Good job!

The disparity of prizes for elimination challenges is hilarious.

Somewhere, a producer is trying to get into Casey's pants.

I feel like Hung and Casey will be the final two. Assuming they keep up with past seasons they will have a cookoff of five dishes. I believe that the judges will have a decision to make whether to choose the technical dazzling and more refined cooking of Hung or the more soulful and loving cuisine of Casey. Hung's cuisine is much more modern and as long as he doesnt have a blowup like Marcel last year where he served a green salad and a veggie course I think he should win

Did anyone else notice when they tasted the Quickfire the restaurant owner clearly said, "this one is the best", when tasting Casey's but Hung ended up winning? What was up with that?

Diablo,

This could very well be true, but I watched some bonus interviews on bravotv.com with the recently eliminated Sara and Padma and a caller asked something like, "hey sara I remember you won a challenge and you didn't get anything, what's up with that?" and Sara said she did receive something, a fully furnished pantry from some company, and it just didn't make the final edit.

So I dunno, it's possible that Hung got nothing, but I think he got at least some prize.
