Re: How focused are you when you play?

I use two monitors, and I typically play 6-14 tournaments at a time. I play 50+ hours a week. My focus wanes at times but even on autopilot I think I do an all right job, but certainly no where near my best.

I use two monitors. When I get deep in a tournament ors its a larger buy in I will enlarge those tables and put them in the center of my screen so I can focus on them more.

If I have been raising a lot of pots I remember it. If I have been a complete nit I remember it. However, I do not remember perfectly what I have been doing.

My biggest disadvantage I think is not being able to pay attention to the other players as much and properly adjust my ranges for calling/reraising.

I usually listen to music while I play, and sometimes I talk on the phone.

Monitor 1: PT, PAHUD, and Browser
Monitor 2: 4 full-sized tables
Monitor 3: 4 full-sized tables
Monitor 4: Music control center & hand grabbers

I used to play 12+ tables (as shown above), but I've settled on 8 tables max now. With 8 tables I can keep up on my tables while taking player notes and browsing the web. I usually start with 4-5 tables at whatever hour I start and add a few in the next 30-60 minutes until I get to 8 tables and then just backfill as I bust out. Then, I stop backfilling about 3 hours before I plan to quit. Since I work 7-4, I usually start play at 5PM and enter my last MTT at 7:30 which usually has me finished around 10:30 unless I get really deep in something. I have my tables sorted by buy-in so that I can spend more focus on the more important tables.

Whenever I change tables in a particular MTT I reset my stats so I know how my table image is being perceived through other player's PT/PAHUD.

I used to AIM a lot with the better players here, but I found that it is more of a distraction that I want to take on when I'm playing. (sry guys)

I recently was off from weekday poker for about 9 months working on a business project out of town, but now things have settled back down where I can play weeknights again.

PAHUD for mtts is annoying to me bc in the rebuy hour ppl will see like 80% of flops distorting all the %'s. for cash its obv essential.

My pahud/tracker broke, and i'm lazy so no pahud/tracker...2-8 tabling mtts...i pay attention to most of the action at my tables...have 17' and 20' monitors and a laptop nearby...listen to music, aim, 2+2, surfing internet, eating pistacios etc etc
