I'm too baked to tilt. Then I'll lay off the bud for a couple days and it'll be monkey mania.

I find the post on tilt fascinating. My problem is a little different and would some comments on it.
I find sometimes during the play of a hand (mostly NLH and there is already a lot of money in the pot) that when a card come that probably has beat me and they make a big bet at me my mind seems to freeze, I can’t think or if a rational thought does come thru I ignore it. I call almost automatic. If I am thinking, clearly, this never happens and I make a calm rational judgment. How can I prevent this from happening?

you're recognizing this is happening, so thats the first step. The next step is recognizing that it is happening when it is happening, then taking a short breath and thinking it through. I had to figure this out too. I make this mistake the most when I'm tired or a little depressed, so take that into consideration as well.

Many ways, each will depend on who you are.

For me, I've found that drinking tea helps an amazing amount. Something about the calming L-?????? in it. Sometimes I'll have ice cream. Also, stretch and get blood flowing to the brain (literally).

haha, yeah if you read the follow up posts by rory and me you'll see that we've already acknowledged that. What is right is the general idea that two beats will make you mad.
