The article is from La Presse which is a major Montreal newspaper.

The only new information I see is that the Quebec government considers the server farm illegal (12th paragraph) and there are at least two government committees/inquiries that have considered what to do about them (13th paragraph).

Which I suppose (totally my conjecture here) implies that a big scandal might prompt the Quebec government to do something about the server farm - Aboriginal sovereignty is huge hot button issue in Canada. Any kind of a government raid has potentially exciting implications.

The paragraph which mentions the FBI is quoting Andathar as saying, "It's a big gray area in the US and we can't expect the FBI or any other police force to step in".

I think we should be careful witch-hunting any player from Montana

it seems to me that Absolute would have many Montana players due to legitimate connections to those in on the founding of the company

then again, if there is suspicion of a player, I'm not sure where one should air that to begin an investigation
