How good/bad is it wearing sneakers with your jeans, khakis, etc.? I looked at the picks manque selected, but I find that they're too "business like" and being in college I don't think that bodes well with the college style.

Also, if it is sneakers, does anyone have any links to some really good sneakers?

[/ QUOTE ]

if you mean sneakers like you would wear to the gym, then that's bad.

I'm not really a sneaker guy, so I can't give great advice. I do have 2 cool pairs I got from Zara and a basic blue pair of Puma speedcats; those are like starter cool sneakers for people who don't really want to get into cool sneakers.

Can someone link or post pictures of "cool" sneakers.

Also there is going to be a fashion forum when 22 switches over.

here are the 4 sneakers in my rotation. they aren't really stylish, just a step up from basic gym sneakers. the 2 brown ones are from Zara, and the classic Pumas and Sambas

Other than jeans, what do you wear sneakers with?

just jeans

Re: Fall Fashions (and good deals on fashions!)

It seems a lot of people have been asking for more "formal" shoes to wear casually (if that makes any sense) and I guess I'm in that ball park. I wear a ton of Nike dunks, and don't plan on changing that, but I also need something a little nicer on occasion, but everything posted thus far seems way too dressy.

Currently, the nicest thing I wear with jeans is a pair of Steve Madden sneakers
Can't find the exact model anymore, but something like this in brown

As far as shoes posted already, I'd say I'm looking for something broader. All the shoes so far seem to be pointy, which just seems way too formal for me

I'm looking for a new pair of shoes (hopefully under $100). Something that will hopefully be casual enough to go with jeans, while also dressy enough for khakis and a dress shirt. Keep in mind I'm also in college, so I don't want anything that will look too out of place.

Maybe something like this from J. Crew:

Thoughts?

Any other suggestions? Brands to look for, or ones to avoid?

Also, do any of you guys subscribe to GQ? I don't have the budget to afford most of the brands that they would undoubtedly mention, but is it still worthwhile in order to keep up with the latest fashion trends and such?

Re: Fall Fashions (and good deals on fashions!)

All GQ does is pimp the brands that advertise in the magazine.

However if you like the looks, by all means spend a few bucks on the mag.

Thoughts on this Gaelic football jersey. The back has the lettering for County Limerick in Gaelic.

It seems like a pretty decent shoe for the money.

Avoid Kenneth Cole (this cannot be said enough)

How do Allen Edmonds run size wise? I'm usually about a 10D-10.5D but haven't bought any Allen Edmonds before.

I find they run true to my size. 9.5D. If you're ordering over the internet, make sure the place has a good return policy the first time you order.

I find that for the most part all the fall fashions are black/white this and gray/black that. Pretty boring stuff.

The more you try to follow fashion trends the more you're left in their tracks.

I really like this jacket but don't particularly like the $550 price tag, any advice on where I can find the same/a similar jacket for less?

I like this coat too, is it warm enough for Winter? I live in Canada...

Or general advice on winter coats would be much appreciated!

Are any of you guys FW 10-20 regulars? I saw someone who plays taggish wearing almost the exact same outfit someone posted in here. You can PM if you are, I don't check this forum much.

Manque, thoughts on Church's shoes?

Any consensus on getting made to measure suits from Hong Kong tailors like wwchan.com? They're roughly the same cost of off the rack suits at nice US stores.

I was looking for a new pair of jeans with these guidelines:
1) Fairly plain back pocket design
2) Classic style -- not slim and not bootcut or baggy
3) Not super trendy brand like 7

The most suitable brands I found were Hiltl from Mark Shale and Indigo Palms (Tommy Bahama brand) from Nordstrom. I hadn't heard of Hiltl before, but they seem pretty nice and they have a unique "hidden" zippable rear pocket to store cash.

re: jeans

A.P.C. is a french minamlist clothier that is well known for their jeans.
p.s. Do not throw your jeans in the washer.

I know that they were bought out by Prada some years back. From what I know (admittedly not much) the quality has suffered and the prices are high. I would think that Crockett & Jones offers a superior shoe at a comparable cost.

I just picked up a pair of Allen Edmunds Conway casual shoes, and they are noticeably better fitting and more comfortable than my old Johnston and Murhpy's.

Nice shoes. Do you know if Paul Smith shoes are also sold under another label?

not sure, i don't think so,
but i mean, the shoe style is very popular atleast here in UK, so you'll see very similar ones alot and you may have seen one like it.

it's 225 quid here though, that's like 460 USD for that pair which is a heck of alot

I believe any Paul Smith shoes marked Made in England are made by Cheaney. I don't know who makes their Made in Italy or Made in India shoes.
