For anyone that has problems getting their cat to exercise:

LASER POINTER

My cat doesn't care for most toys or even cat nip. However, she absolutely cannot resist chasing that damn red dot. I almost feel sorry for her.

ignore half of whats been said, your cat is not in heat. Your cat is bored. Most cats are playful animals that like to have fun when they're not sleeping. Play with it. Get toys. Spend time with it having your full attention. Do this when its not in a "meowing" mode.
