I definately don't think its unethical, if they agree to a deal then theres nothing unethical about it. Some of you may think its sleezy to take more than first place money but thats your opinion but IMO if they agree it can't be unethical. Personally I don't think its sleezy to take more than first place money either as long as u don't go about it in a deceptive way as stated above.

If the other players like the money they are getting, understand that your getting more then 1st, it might actually be TOO ethical

I have no problem with people negotiating a better deal than a chip chop would give them or an ICM or whatever 'fair' method you're using to determine the deal. For whatever reason I don't feel chopping for more than first is right. I'm just wondering if I'm crazy for feeling this way or what the general conscience is.

I think so. Look, say I'm natural at poker, great hand reading and maths skills and, through this, I have a healthy ROI. This is one game. Now, one fine day, I make the FT of the Million. The skill set totally changes as the pressure increases. I lose the ability to take the best line, because I'm worried about what I might lose, and a more experienced player will be able to take advantage of this. This is another game.

In the same way that a more experienced player would be able to take advantage during deal making. I just don't see what's unethical about this.

In the case of the Million (and we can dream), I would definitely be playing hardball, not because I have a skill edge but simply because only first place money is life-changing for me - the rest is just a lot of money.

All of this said, I think that it's stupid that deal-making is allowed but as it is, it is.
