So, my future mother-in-law and my fiancee are rapping with the headwaiter at the restaurant where we will be holding our reception.

Mom's reading the menu (which is in Chinese) and talking with the headwaiter in Mandarin, finalizing the menu. Some people had expressed interest in that dish with the fried shrimp, sweet sauce, and walnuts, and Mom says it's not there. More Mandarin ensues...loosely translated, the headwaiter said, "That dish is on the whitey menu."
