I also love the opening for "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" by the Rolling Stones.

and the extended outro on this track, too.

Nirvana- Aneurysm. Every time I hear this, I wish the whole thing was an instrumental. The lyrics part is awesome too, but the punk guitars and drums at the start is just ridiculous.

Pink Floyd - Echoes imo. The first part is so sad and awesome at the same time

The middle part of 'My Sharona' by The Knack . . .

This was my submission to a thread I started in EDF about "Immaculate Solos", and I got railed for it, but yeah, that guitar solo is awesome. Jamming, cruising, amazing.

The guitar solo from "Time", by Pink Floyd. Just one of my favorite guitar solos of all time. It evokes the mood of the song perfectly. Also "immaculate" imo (meaning that you could not change a note without lessening the solo).

Gene Krupa's drums from "Sing, Sing, Sing", Benny Goodman and His Band, written by Louis Prima. Wow. Still blows me away. This song pretty much marked the end of the take off ramp and the point of launch of the Swing Era, in 1937. For a really good modern recording, check out the arrangement on the "Swing Kids" soundtrack.

There are so many more.

Rolling Stones, "Sway", of course. The long fade out with Mick Taylor's guitar and that Richards-Jagger wall of sound coming at you.

The 2nd solo in Comfterbly numb is BYE far my favorite. Its puts you in the mood of the song, and into that "state of mind", Pink floyd did this so well.
