No Ilya is Ilya Trincher, the young guy from HSP 3, who i think is actually a good player and a fixture in underground games in NY. It was indeed his apartment the games were played at. The other NY dave is Gaucho2121 online or dlpnyc21 from here.

Krantz lost it all to emil in cab rides. Last I heard he owed 131,072 cab rides due to losing in pool 17 consecutive times.

Who was dealing the games? I would be very careful to make sure it was on the level. Also, you send someone out to buy a deck of cards? Paper cards? Really?
