ok last one i swear
ive read a lot on thaivisas

So i guess you can just get 60days visas every 60days if you dont care about paying?
They say that the 30days extentions are not always given, its at the discretion of the officer.
Are 60days visa almost always given out, and has anyone in here lived off those for like 6months, so 3 times?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, as long as you don't mind going to the Thai consulate in a foreign capital. It takes 2 working days, but some places you can drop off your passport in the morning it pick it up the following afternoon. Cost is 1000 baht. If you wanted to, you could get to Vientiane for under 500 baht by train not including the Lao visa fee that varies depending on country of origin. Round-trip flights are 5 or 6k baht and I imagine this is similar for other nearby capitals.

but this seems right? sending my passport and stuff? seems sketchy

[/ QUOTE ]

I just went through this as well and was rather sketched out at the thought of sending my passport away. I wrote an email to check on the status of my visa last week, no response, kinda nervous. Yesterday it comes in the mail, no problem.

Of course I don't live in Canada ...

Get the double entry in ur home contry then stay
60days and do a bordercross then stay
60days more then buy
30days extension for 1900bath THEN
go to laos apply for same visa, spend a week there get the paperworks done THEN enter Thailand again and repeat?

Is this what you guys are doing to stay in the country? have I got it right?

I hate Thaivisas

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand

i think its more
60days.

then do it again and get an extention

If your currency is us dollar buy at home the change will kill you.
If not Thailand may be a bit cheaper but not much. Middle range stuff will be quite cheaper but top of the line not.

The pills look like generic Immodium. Wow, you're really tearing through that valium. Did they just give it to you or did you ask for it? The powder just contains a a bunch of electrolytes (like Gatoraid) to replenish the ones you've lost through, um, fluids.

I just told them to fix my foodpoison. What i have googled thats the most basic "set" they give to you. The antibiotics even will fix chlamydia if you have one . After taking the pills and 40hours sleep i'm feeling like a newborn baby jesus.

Thanks for a good read. I'm leaving for Thailand the 9. Oct with Cookie, and I can hardly wait.

I just have one question. Is it easy to find shoes in size US 12? I recon that it isn't the most common size in SE Asia..

Unless you plan to go in the south it won't be rainy anymore. And it's not really rainy even now.

nah i dont want to buy i there, my post wasnt clear. I meant to aks how easy it would be to bring my ritalin from germany into thailand without a prescribtion.

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand

That would be a really bad idea, you could potentially spend years in prison. Maybe try to get a prescription and then make sure you'd be allowed to bring some. I'm not sure "how" illegal it would be, but there's no way it's worth risk. Just drink red bull, it's really cheap.

I'll be in Bangkok in 3 weeks
I found some websites listing apartments and hotels at what seems to be a good price, esp. the last one:
http://www.bangkokapartments.info/
http://www.thaiapartment.com/
http://en.9apartment.com/

but if anyone has first hand experience I'm a taker cuz I don't really feel like checking out 50 different hotels on my first day there looking to spend ~12k thb/month max (not including water/electricity/internet...)
