what is going to be this year's October blowup to the poker economy?

2006 was UIGEA
2005 was party cutting off the rakeback skins (empire, eurobet, multipoker, etc)

so, what is going to dramatically effect us this October?

The minimum buy-in gets raised and shortstackers disappear forever.

The minimum buy-in gets decreased and only shortstakcers are allowed to play (like on True poker)

Can someone explain the reason people trade funds?

Is this something specific to US players? I can't figure out the advantage over just using a e-wallet and moving the funds over and this is bothering me.

What e-wallet do you expect them to use?

Edit: Since Neteller there hasn't been any good stable e-wallets for US people.

That was why I asked if it was a US player thing.

yes, it is a us player thing.

rumour has it that some people might not have accounts in their own name, which might be another reason.

Rather than start another worthless thread can anyone give me a decent answer to this question?

I recently moved a small amount of money to full tilt to see how I liked playing there.
I didn't move much at first so have played just some small sngs and PLO10 at Tilt since the beginning of the month.

So here's my question. And yeah it took me thru the end of the week to notice this...
If the rake on a $23 pot at stars in PLO is $1.15 and Full Tilt took $2 out of a $23 pot tonight, remind me again why I should be trying to play at full tilt?

Edit: note I play regularly at stars and couldnt figure out what was bothering me for a while during the play at Tilt this week until I went back and looked thru some HHs... and sure enough its a ridiculous difference in rake.
Since I've only played plo10 at Tilt I have no basis of comparison for the 25 and 50 games yet.

I think on FTP it depends on what limit you play as to whether the rake is 10% or 5%.

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/rake.php is supposed to be the rake page but none of the dropdowns show any values for me.

How did people fix the laggy problems at Full Tilt and the yellow screen of death thing. Just started getting it.
