[ QUOTE ] With a 5 inch hole I'd be looking at 6 birdies on avg and would make very few bogeys barring penalty shots. I'd happily take tiger on with a hole that big, would be a coin flip. If it were a 6 inch hole Tiger would be a big Dog. With a 4 and 3/4 inch hole I'd be the Dog but would still back myself. Same size hole everyones a Dog to Tiger. [/ QUOTE ] at least half the tour pros would be a dog to tiger with a 5 inch hole. [/ QUOTE ] No way. That extra 3/4 of an inch would be worth minimum 2-3 shots a round. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Fun question! My current handicap is +3. I think I'd need at least 5 shots a round to be competitive with Tiger. My guess is that I'd improve 5 shots a round if the hole were 50% bigger. But if this is a one-time match, and figuring in the "choke" factor, I'd want the hole to be twice as big as normal. Yeah, if the hole were twice as big for me, I could take him! maybe [/ QUOTE ] LOL. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] at least, a. at the lowest estimate or figure: The repairs will cost at least $100. b. at any rate; in any case: You didn't get a good grade, but at least you passed the course. |

Re: Fun Tiger hypothetical
if the hole were 8-10 inches wide, think how hard you could hit your putt and still be okay. You would almost never have to worry about break.
I average low 90s on relatively easy courses. I think I would need a 3 foot hole to be even money. |
