Also more curious how many times the bars were raided? As I didnt go to the bars but everytim eI walked past there were insane lines and I just thought the popo would be sitting inside them and that bar attendance or would be down inf

I got to the bars just before the lines built up.

Finished off two pitchers of Yuengling's in about an hour and a half, got bored and made my way home...eventually.

I'm a junior at U of Iowa (20 years old). I got to Champaign-Urbana at 10pm on Thursday and left at noon on Sunday. thoughts:

-Unofficial was great. Started drinking at 8, ended at around 2. Everybody wandered around the streets in green the whole day. We just drank in my friends apartment at first, then house partys during the afternoon and nighttime. House partys were pretty fun, but nothing special. we avoided the bars cause all of my friends said cops were gonna go crazy and raid everything.

-Saturday night we headed over to Station(never been there before), because "its cool" and thats where all our friends were. We literally waited 90 minutes outside. There were lots of douches trying to cut in line. It was terrible. There was even a long wait for the "VIP line", which was humorous. The bar itself wasn't anything special either. For anybody who goes to Iowa, its basically half the size of union and half as fun. We stayed in a corner area where drink were free at hte beginning, which was cool. For anybody who visits, I recommend not waiting in line at Station and going to one of the other bars where theres no wait.

Afterwards we went to Nero's. It was packed, everybody wasted. Pretty fun experience, but lots of people were cutting inline. With everybody being wasted, there were some confrontations, but no fights. Nero has great drunk food. I got the gyros and fries and boy was it good. Lots of drunk mariokart once we got back. Fun fun fun time.

For anybody who didn't go this year, It's definitely somethin you gotta do at least once while your at college.

There werent any bars w/out ridic lines on unofficial that I knew of. I also expected the bars to get raided infinite times and I think they only really got raided like once (station among them)

i think the di said something like ~24 notices for court appeacersnces were given out.

i think this includes things like public urination, fighting etc.
and it sounded like 5 bars were raided

when you say a bar is "raided" what do you mean?

it means cops (more than 1, sometimes undercover) go in there and check that people are 21 (if they have a drink in their hand)

everytime im in a line for a bar ill almost always see two hot underage chicks being escorted out by cops who arent in uniform, but when the show themselves they have badges like in necklace

p.s. basically raided = spot check

our apartment party was busted up by 11am. we finished a keg and was bringing in another and the cops just happened to be walking by during the switch. $900 in fines for adult responsibility or whatever. anyways, they left and we still had 2 kegs which was great. good time all around, went to Murphy's at night for more green beer. oh yeah, never go to Station. The bar sucks, its basically a frat bar with a bunch of douchebags with popped collars cutting in line and actin like tough [censored]. Brothers or one of those bars are a lot more fun.

Station is TERRIBLE.

Brothers, Murphy's and Legends are all solid chill bars. Kam's is an illini tradition, even though it is a POS. CO's, Stations, and Clybourne are all loud typical dirty, smelly college bars with fat chicks dancing on poles.

Joe's is a very good bar when it is nice (read: warm) outside. They have a nice beer garden to hang out in.

My friend's apt. complex fire alarm went off at like 2, but we stayed inside even though cops and firemen were roaming the hallways. No one I know got arrested, etc.
