I'm a little surprised that this forum always goes along with the trendy media picks regarding the NFL. Last year nobody could praise the Bolts enough and everyone refused to believe Denver was the better team until about January. Now everyone thinks SD is dead. I wouldn't be surprised if they're as good as last year; we'll see.

well the thing was Brees was very very good, I am one of the guys who thought they were easily in the elite last year, they just blew way too many close games they had won, which you cant do in this league. So the questions are in Rivers now, and its hard to predict the Chargers results until I can see Rivers in regular season form.

Brees absolutely killed them last year by throwing INTs at the worst possible times.

I don't think anyone is saying this. IMO without considering QB's they are in the top 5 or 6 teams in the league in talent. If Rivers plays solid they should make the playoffs. It's just really rare that anyone comes in at QB and does it right away.

So Chargers don't start week 4 with zero points allowed. They have bye next week. Then the first test vs. Ravens. Titans did not get over midfield or 90 total yards until the Chargers were up 33-0 with 8 min to go.

Rivers 25-35 235 yds TD no Int. (After two weeks his competion percentage is 72%). He overthrew 4 open receivers deep, probably a little excited due to his first home game start. Gates dropped a sure TD.

LT and Turner ran wild, Merriman, Jammer had picks. Rookie OT Marcus McNeil at 6'8'' 340 started, played well, and looks kinda big in person.

Antonio Cromartie is as a suspected a total freak who plays nickel situations and he matched up well with tall guy Bennet and shut him down.

They looked absolutely fantastic. With any other coach they would be serious SB contenders.

There are a lot worse coaches in the league than Marty Schottenheimer.

Even against arguably the two worst teams, very impressive so far. We know their run D is excellent; it'll be interesting to see if their pass-rush is still dynamite against a good offense. If so, they'll be tough to beat as they won't be playing from behind very often, which obviously they don't want to do w/ a 1st yr QB.

they will overuse LT again this year, moreso than last year and fade at the end of the season again
