I met him in a casino in Prague and we chatted for a while, he was very nice and modest.I respect him both as a person and as a poker player.

Nice guy
Good player
Respected

Hope OP's entire worldview or grip on reality is not solely based upon what he sees on TV.

I trust the overwhelming support of him from many in this thread that have met him or talked to those who have but christ he does come across as painfully miserable on TV.

Seems like a class act every time he's on TV.

If it's an act, it's one hell of an act.

last year espn seemed to portray him as miserable foreign guy.

this year they have made him mr. nice guy.

i guess from watching last years coverage you kind of get that impression. this year ESPN makes him mr quiet guy great player who never wins at the WSOP.

as people have said with editing ESPN can do what they want to make a story better.

This year, having him go busto, then counting all the chips while he wandered off, then thinking he had chips left and calling him all the way back after he nearly walked out of the room, then when he gets back they say "oops, nevermind, you're busto lol" was comic genius.

I don't know how you guys get ESPN portraying him as miserable last year. If anyone, Prahlad was the miserable one. Lisandro reacted like most of us might if someone refused to quit acting like a douchebag and calling you a petty thief.

Isn't that the point of News, Views, and Gossip? Or at least one of the points?

I've played with Jeff in some small buy in tournaments here in Sydney, and although the first time he looked like he had better places to be he was still polite to everyone. The 2nd time he was great - seemed happy to be there, spoke about hands, cringed when the TD announced that the antes were kicking in (guess he hears it all the time), told us about some of his sports bets.

All in all a good guy, and couldn't have been happier for him after his great 07 WSOP.
