Are you guys basing your picks on the old movies or the old cartoon that preceded them? I still base my perception of the characters on the way they were portrayed in the original cartoon series from the '80s.

My favorite was Raphael because he taught me how to be a smartass at the age of 8. Also the old series would always make one turtle the center of a subplot each episode almost without exception. Raphael only got like two episodes devoted to him during the span of the entire series. His character was neglected, so I felt sorry for him. But then the first movie made him the central character, so that was some vindication.

edit: I didn't realize it was all one series. I only watched the show from 1987 to maybe 1991, before it took a darker turn.
