4. if theres a cop on the side of the road and has somebody pulled over, you dont need to slow down. hes not going to jump in his car and chase you down. hes busy, keep driving.
12. the world is not your ashtray, youre cigarette butts dont go out the window. and your not really fooling anybody when you dry to drop them low so nobody sees. and your not fooling anybody when you hang on to them for a second or two and then let it go as if you dropped it by mistake.
15. rain does not equal ice. you do not have to drive 45mph just because theres a little rain coming down.

PokerAce : Love the software, but I am sad to say that it never should have been created -- you should have taken a bullet to the head years ago if this is truly how you drive.

OP : Left lane of a 4 lane hwy in an urban/suburban area is go fast lane. Its not just for passing. left lane of a rural 2 lane hwy IS for passing. Your general point is correct though ... if you're in the left lane and there is someone behind you, move over and let them by dammit!

It doesn't happen very often. Like I said, I'm usually driving faster than everyone else. Sometimes I get stuck behind some bozo going slow and some jackass in an overpriced car comes flying up behind me. I will slow down in this case. Not slower than the traffic to the right, but enough to say "get off my ass" to the idiot behind me.

Most of the time, once the guy going slower than me gets over, I get going and the jackass doesn't keep up, but every once in a while there'll be a guy who cuts off the guy I just passed and tries to race around me. I generally speed up a bit in this case, but I watch blindspots and will back off if he proves to be a geniune idiot.

I'm generally a safe driver, but this is something that pisses me off.

This makes more sense.

May I also add:

Its a [censored] on-ramp. That means you are going to be getting onto a freeway/tollway/expressway where traffic is going faster than surface street traffic which means that you have to ACCELERATE YOU [censored] MORAN!!!! The on-ramp that I use every day on my way home is a long, straight, down-[censored]-hill on-ramp and I often (3 out of every 5 days) get stuck behind someone who still gets to the merge point doing 50mph. 50!!!! I have reached the point that if I'm not first in line at the light just before the on-ramp, I hang back, go slow and allow idiot in front of me to creep away from me at 45. When there is enough distance I accelerate rapidly to 60 or so and then am able to safely merge while douchebag slows everyone down moving into traffic.
Skinny one on the right for crissakes!

Accelerating to not let them pass you on the right is the reason you need to be shot.

It is my take that if you are going the speed limit in the left lane you are not breaking the law and therefore going as fast as you should be. Therefore I am not getting over for someone who is on my ass I am going to slow down to piss you off.

I will drive in whichever lane is moving the fastest. I am normally driving 15-20mph faster than everyone else anyway, so technically I am always in a "passing" mode.

To use only 3 lanes of traffic when 4 are available is completely and totally retarded.

Yobz,

I say this same dialogue in my head approximately 52 to 67 times a day because if I understand correctly, no one knows this information except our secret club.

This is not true, in every area I have ever driven in. The left lane is for passing, regardless of whether you are going the speed limit or not.

Not sure about other states, but in NY, NJ, and WA (I took the driving test in all 3 states, soon to add MA to that list) it is ILLEGAL to do just this. It specifically says in the laws (although not enforced) that you should only go into a left-more lane to pass. Technically, every lane except the right one is a passing lane, so MOVE THE F... OVER and let people who know what they are doing (and the laws) pass, jackass.
