the police did a study of gun vs. knife. it takes most police officers like 1.3 seconds to draw/aim/fire. A typical fit bad guy with a knife can close 21 feet before the officer gets his shot off.

a friend of mine suggested this idea when reading this thread...

the knife-weilder 2 hand parrys the bat guy trying to 'catch' the bat in the hilt (if there is one??) of the knife. if u can angle it so the force goes down ur forearm and not ur hand...if done correctly, it gives the knife guy a clear shot to stab...

comments?? he says he has seen it done with a parrying dagger vs a bokken
