Thanks for the insight. It is actually possible to keep BOTH Braun and Linecum if I take one as my rookie keeper and take the other as just a regular keeper outside of the first 4 rounds.

I was planning on keeping them both but if I make the Arod trade then my decision will get easier for me. I think the trade definitely makes me better in the future, but I don't know if I should sacrifice this year for it. I'm in 3rd place at the moment.

Braun is definitely lighting it up right now (and has actually been more valuable than A-Rod in my league since his call up) but I don't think he can sustain it. The numbers he is putting up now would be pretty ridiculous is kept up in an 162 game season.

I'll be mulling this offer over tonight and I'm probably leaning toward taking it. Another interesting thing is that we can trade future draft picks (althoguh with 5 keepers per team the draft is basically 4 rounds shorter), so I counter-offer with him throwing in a 4th or 5th rounder in next years draft...

Also, you mentioned 5x5 league. Take a look at my OP, the scoring is pretty [censored].

It is a normal head to head 5x5 league except there is Ks, doubles, triples, and CGs added in..

People who lost Utley, grab Gotay for now if you really need a 2B.

I didn't think he was that highly rated. Thankfully I had Kent in one league and Polanco in the other (although I was kindof hoping to part ways with Kent when Giambi came off the the DL).

OBP, SLG, HR, R, SB x K, WHIP, ERA, W, SV

what do you think of Rollins and Haren for Hanley?

(i am the one offering up rollins and haren)

if he doesnt want haren

what if i substituted escobar or lackey? still good?

I see no reason to trade Rollins for Hanley Ramirez unless you really need the OBP or SB. Remember Rollins is now batting 3rd and he already had an advantage in RBI/HR.

there are no RBIs in my league and the jump in OBP is huge as well as a jump in SB

the only thing rollins does better than hanley is score runs and i really dont have a problem with that

Gotta read the scoring stats better I guess I like it, although it just feels wrong.

Haren is wayyy too big of a throw in, even if you believe he will come crashing down to earth in the 2nd half.

Hanley is that much better than Rollins. The thing I worry about is his shoulder. A healthy Hanley and I'd do this in a heartbeat. With the shoulder, there should be some hesitation. Hanley projects better in OBA, SLG, and SB and is a nearly wash in R and HR. This is a prety big upgrade and Haren is really only a second tier pitcher. Again, if not for the shoulder, I'd do it. Instead, you've got to determine how much risk you're willing to take on.

I've got Hanley in my biggest, most important league, and so I've been keeping a close eye on this shoulder injury. Florida's last two games have been on ESPN, and he's looked excellent swinging the bat. Hitting the ball up the middle and in the gaps with power, 5 hits the last two days. I realize the shoulder can just pop out again, but there's definitely no ill effects on the way he's swinging the stick.
