The rumors go on, Hicks vs Benitez is officially the new Abramovich vs Mourinho.

[/ QUOTE ]

Benitez is such a wanker. I can't wait until he gets sacked.

[/ QUOTE ]

Only 4 posts at the time I write this, but already placed on ignore. Must be some kind of record.

Personally I'm loving that the media continue to ignore City. We are invincible at home and Sven has the cash to buy a world class striker in January. Not to mention Bojinov will be fit again by then and he has skill in abundance. Onwards and upwards.

they continue to ignore them because they are a meh team. Will finish in the top 6 but nothing more. Which 'world class' striker is he going to be able to buy exactly?

LONDON MEET-UP FOR London (Or any UK) 2p2er's

It was suggested in another thread (Living In London Thread) that we meet up for a night of some beer and self dealt games etc @ The Gutshot in London or any other poker place (The Vic?) if that didn't suit..

There was quite a few people who expressed interest in this...Basically, the 13th/14th December seemed like the ideal time for the majority ... A few said that the wednesday (12th) wouldn't suit as Arsenal are playing that day in the CHampions League...So I guess the Friday will be fine and mean a lot won't have to get up for work on the friday morning...

So Friday 14th Dec seems like the best bet -

So who is interested...

Alex McLeish Resigns from Scotland job and joins Birmingham

Plenty of jobs changing in the Premier League, Steve Bruce to Wigan, Billy Davies sacked from Derby, McLeish to Birmingham, Ramos to Spurs & all the speculation with Benitez at Anfield.

Also bad news for Scottish supporters obviously he done a great job with them and nearly qualified for the Euros.

do you really think that the blue crap will end up in the top 6? I'd have to see it to believe it as it is city we're talking about

You make a very compelling argument taking full consideration of the strengths and weaknesses of the team.

No, wait. You actually don't.

That group right behind the top 4 is pretty tight. Everton, Pompy, City, Blackburn. Top 6 is a tough bet, but surely top of the table is in order for City. [censored], they might even slip in to top 4 when its all said and done.

[/ QUOTE ]A simply baffling decision by McLeish. A lot of Dons fans who stuck by their legend despite managing the Huns, are in pretty uncomprimising mood today for him ducking out on Scotland for a yoyo nothing team. Very very disappointed in the big fella.

City's previous history has no relevance whatsoever on this season so your point means nothing. You're simply expressing your bias like a typical rags fan.

Based on the last 5 seasons 59 points is required to finish 6th which is 1.55 points per game. City are averaging 2.07. 1.7 points is usually enough for top 4.

I think that's slightly more relevant than your pseudo-hatred of City. Oh and as Fergiescum says this is United's best ever squad how does it feel to be only one point ahead after 14 games? LOL

no mention of this:

Portsmouth have confirmed that their manager, Harry Redknapp, was one of the five people arrested today as part of the City of London's investigation into football corruption. Redknapp was held at Chichester police station on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric, Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie, agent Willie McKay and Charlton midfielder Amdy Faye were the others arrested. The five were held in pre-dawn raids after more than 60 police officers searched eight addresses across the UK.

Not surprised about Harry his old school goes back to the days when it was standard, and he has always made a lot of signing at every club his been at.
I’m thrilled at the arrest of Willie McKay who has stirred up trouble and got players to put in transfer requests just so he can collect 10% notably Anelka and Barton.

How is this decided? Setanta has been advertising this game for the past month. However, on Thursday night during Fox Soccer Report, the scroll had this game being shown! This had also happened with the Arsenal/Wigan game.

I guess Setanta announced these games as their draw, but then threw them back in the pool?

I really don't like Almunia. It seems to me that he has next-to-ZERO communication with his back line (also with setting the wall on set plays). He has really benefitted from solid back line play, but I don't think has been a major contributor.

You could be right about Manny. Really poor performance from Arsenal in the second half. Man, Villa is a tough nut to crack, good side IMO.

we haven't made a decent wall at a set play for at least 15 years so that is nothing new tbh

and the communication thing is a bit meh but as a member of the goalkeeper's liberation front and a not very good-at-communicating goalkeeper myself i don't mind
