The problem isn't the # of commercials. It's how long the hands are lasting.

2 weeks in a row he's whined his way to staying alive when he clearly should have been gone, the sad part is, even when he is out of money (which shouldn't be long) they'll keep him around for +ETV (pos ex TV value)

raised to 4200 "preflop"

raised to 100K on the "flop"

raised to 200K on the turn

checked on river

200 + 100 + 4.2= $304,200

am I wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. You're wrong.

The turn bet was $100,000. The pre-flop and flop betting combined was less than $100,000.

[/ QUOTE ]

no Im sure they bet the flop before it even came out and then sammy fired 200K at the turn and they checked the river

Possibly. But, I think he was mostly just trying to steal the pot pre-flop from a slew of limpers.

gold lost $194.2k on that hand:

4.2k preflop [limp for 1.2k, call farha's raise to 4.2k]
90k "on the flop" (preflop 2) [c/r 10k to 30k, call 3bet to 90k]
100k on turn [check-call farha's 100k bet]
0 on river [check check]

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

If that hand had been played silently, I think Farha would have checked the river anyway. If someone had called that much all the way, he might have been afraid that his Aces weren't good anymore.

There was ~95k put in the pot preflop. 100k on turn.

Barry and Doyle both look steaming because they obv think they're hugely EV in this game.

Barry caught a gin card there.

100 on the turn 90ish before that. The final pot was around 390. Gold lost around 190-195.

If it weren't for the dark flop betting, your analysis might be right. In a big pot, it's not a good board for Aces when you can't put your opponent on a big hand pre-flop.

I never hated Jamie Gold before I watched that AA vs. KK hand. I now know why so many people despise him. "I know you have aces, but I HAVE to call." No you don't, you donk. If you know someone has a certain hand, and you're beaten, you can't call. Dumbass. Douchebag. I now hate him too.

The looks and comments from Doyle and Barry after that hand b/t Guy and Jamie are priceless.

They are putting the 'keep the idiots happy' comments into full mode. Their comments after those hands are prime examples of some of the skills that high stakes live players must have in order to keep the whales happy and coming back for more.

Yes, there's an excuse for not betting, at one point Jamie said "I maight have a set" and "I tried to be nice to you". Sammy knows that Jamie would have said this, and played this that way if he had 10,10.

To the other poster... if Jamie was at my table, I would get tossed for telling him repeatedly to "SHUT UP!".

Here's another poorly played hand by Gold... 10,7 vs. QQ.

Ha, I was just joking about people coming on here to defend the check. I really had faith that 2+2 was smart enough to know that the check was bad. It seemed so obvious. I won't argue anymore about it but, come on, you have to be leveling right?
