good decision dids, i agree with a lot of what you said. i think bbv4l fits him a lot better because it's not serious at all so he doesn't get worked up.

fwiw, i still think he's a good poster and a good person.

Yeah, this history is bound to repeat itself. Not if, but when. Tick, tick, tick. But I guess that Mat can always just pull the plug yet again makes it an acceptable decision. I just LOL at the dichotomy between the recent angry e-mails to Mat and how much he hates it here and today's post about how he "loves" the forums. Sheesh.

Consistency? istewart was gone for a long time and never sent nasty emails to the bosses. I don't see that as consistent at all - but I fully respect your decision. PITTM is now "your user", if he messes up he makes you look bad - I think thats a very fair trade off that any of us willing to make that type of commitment for a user can take.

With the caveat that I kinda like istewart despite his weird racism, I'm not sure where making 100s of gimmic accounts to dodge a ban is somehow less bad than a few heated emails to Mat. I've been pretty harsh on Mat myself in the past, and I'm a mod.

i am only half serious btw because i know bbv is not meant to be modded super harshly.

but dids is also modding it much more harshly - or at least visibly so - than gild did.

i am mainly thinking of the two threads i most recently started in bbv, which didn't have much flaming except by RJ. if everyone is saying i suck and he's participating that's one thing.
