Ok mets let's talk.
I have already been invited to multiple alliances and one of them tried to recruit me with the good old "oh better join there's a more dangerous alliance out there"
Well they claimed you were the head of that alliance but I'm pretty sure you haven't started anything like that.
Call it a soulread if you will.
Anyhow just a FYI: someone wants you out

This has exciting potential

Also, HBE, do you have aim? Not saying I want to talk to you, but maybe I do

Yeah not much talking going on here - sup everyone?

I went to the dark side and played some NLHE last night - the bad news is I'm not very good at it but the good news is that the people I was playing against were even worse.

Also - I'm going to actually try to qualify for the PCA this year and if I don't make it I'm going to be very What's the best way to try to qualify?

Good point - how about "most likely to actually get me there without wasting huge sums of money". I've got about $3,000 earmarked for trying to qualify but I'm definitely not above playing some smaller satellites and stuff to improve my chances. I don't mind investing some time into it.

the $650s are lower varianec

the $175 DSOs are cheaper but high variance

dmk 10-09-2007 01:28 PM

Re: Big Brother - Game Thread

in general, players make more mistakes in the $650s due to incorrect satellite and/or bubble strategy that makes them better value than the DSOs

Cool,
I've never really tried to satellite into a big event before so this all new to me - I'll probably try to satellite into the $650 a few times and hopefully build up some W$ or something to take some shots at it. I'm more comfortable with the standard satellite than the DSO anyways.

I'll probably stay neutral and be a swingstate if two big alliances form btw.

I played in one of the POG series tourneys, it was fun

I had deposited $50 bucks through echecks, but now that's not an option.... but I'm pretty happy not playing, too much other stuff going on, like pwning Big Brother

Oh wait, there's nothing to pwn yet... just many secrets

Actually if I'm bored I might come up with some clever riddle and whoever solves it autorecruits me to their alliance.

Yeah I spent about a year not playing at all and was very happy with that decision. I don't know how I got sucked back in. Damn addictive game.

Re: Big Brother - Game Thread

So I know there are tons of IM conversations going on, and everyone else does, so let's get rid of the elephant in the room and just talk a little bit here

I plan on winning the HOH. Just letting everyone know. I have been pursued for two alliances (OMG FROM WHO I HAVE NO IDEA) So it appears this game is going to be very much along alliance lines at the start, which I guess is fine, but I wouldn't be surprised if things changed quite quickly after an HOH and POV competition

But yeah, when I win HOH I will be taking offers as to why I shouldn't be putting you up, as I'm sure anyone would (LDO)

But at this point in time I think we could just label the thread Mets v. Luckay and go from there (OMG I SAID IT)

Ok, now let's discuss a little bit

Re: Big Brother - Game Thread

Nez, I'll spell it out for you.
There never was a dmk/mets alliance when luckay sent that PM.
This is fairly obvious, isn't it?
He just picked two long time poggers that people could be afraid have allianced and started cold-war-fearmongering people into joining his alliance to gaim the lead from the start.
Pretty sure he picked from this pool to make up the second fake alliance:
dmk/met/chuck
Just makes sense, that's all.
I'm also sure that he pciked dmk/mets because chuck is less likely to start an alliance.
Luckay, if that was your exact thought process...fear should strike your heart as I'll just soulread all you moves to give us non alliance players a good shot.

clowntable 10-09-2007 02:45 PM

Re: Big Brother - Game Thread

Oh yeah and I'm pretty sure mets reaction to this whole deal was to then start an alliance.
So I'd say luckay played it good so far because people will get confused as to who started what alliance first.
I might be off here but that's the timeline of events I have reconstructed so far:
1) Luckay starts off with alliance invites using a possible dmk/mets alliance that does not exist at that time to subconciousely pressure people into joining

2) mets realizes this and starts to recruit, luckay has now created a self fulfilling prophecy

In case it isn't obvious...it might not be a good idea to contact me with secret stuff etc. I'll just leak it out and be transparent.
Might not be a good strategy as both alliances could feel they don't lose anything by offing me but then again, I challenge the egos of the alliance leaders.
Try to trick me, try to play me, be the puppetmaster of doom.

I had a realization while mowing the yard. Anytime 2 people come up to vote, more than likely I will vote for the less entertaining person. So if you want my vote I recommend, funny videos, drunken stories, or hot women. For my contribution here is Alessandra
