My friend and I will be driving from Texas to play in the satellites.
I just have one question.
Can you sell your entry into the main event if you qualify? I'm not sure I'll be able to play in the main event.

You won't be charged anything when you book your room through Donna. They'll take your cc info and hold the room. Her number is at the bottom of the tourney sheet located Here

Does anyone know if the $500 + events are one or two day events?

ForRealDD 07-30-2007 05:19 PM

Re: Gulf Coast Poker Championship (WPT)

All events are 2 days unless otherwise noted. I'm pretty sure Day 1 plays down to the final 2 or 3 tables.

Hey guys,
Just an update re the blind structure of the main event. It will be the same as Bellagio Cup, with the final table of WPT using our blind structure. The players really liked this there, and it will be applied at the Beau. Make reservations. It's gonna be good.

Don't see an answer to this, but inquiring minds want to know. The website mentions registration starting 7am the day before. Does this mean registration runs 7am the day before to 12noon the day of for each event?

Hey guys,
Just checking in. We are sold out for the Labor Day weekend nights. That's 400 rooms booked, so the fields will be BIG. We do still have availability on dates after the weekend, so booking offsite for the first weekend and moving to the BEAU would be a good idea. The rooms are awesome, with great beds and 32 inch flatscreens in every room. The pool is also the NUTS!!! A great party there on Thursday nights (Tiki party) If you call the number, Donna will give you numbers for other places nearby that can book you. Don't miss this event. It will be a great one.

See you there,
Johnny Grooms

Actually, that part's not true. It's only the block of rooms at the special poker rate, that are fully booked.

If you don't mind paying up to 500 bucks a night (might be less, if you have a harrahs players club you've used recently), there are still rooms open.

Sorry I wasn't clear, but that's what I meant. I thought the implication was obvious. Regular room rates are $269+ on the weekends, IIRC.

lol to anyone that has to pay any kind of rate. The Beau is flying me down on the 30th and my room is free through Sunday when I'll fly back to Atlanta. Yeah, I'm the guy that wins money in the poker room and then goes off for 10 times that at blackjack. See ya there!

Just a heads up for those of you planning to go to the Beau. Upon arrival, make sure you get a players card. They will be required for tournament registration. Also, if you plan on using internet service, bring an ethernet cable with you.

This is what Donna said when I booked too but the 'system' was down so she couldn't check my name or apply for a card for me. I have a card from the MGM Grand Poker Room in LV...is that the same card? Wasn't sure if the 'poker room' card was separate/different than a regular player's card.
