RELAX ... if you can't recognise that Joe has achieved something impressive, you surely don't have enough enthusiasm for poker to make playing worthwhile. The rest of us know how hard it is to do what Joe has done: it doesn't matter that he's young and plays all the hours possible, it's still incredibly difficult and it is an achievement which the rest of us can aspire to.

Er btw Joe, my HH are only worth reviewing if you get desperately bored and need a laugh.

When I'm buying a house this summer I will surely contact you for my mortgage loan, and trust that you can get me the best deal around. That is, if your job hasn't been replaced by the BillPay function that most banks are making available now.

I also think it's funny that you are patronizing bigjoe, implying he's trying too hard or something by playing so much. Meanwhile, you probably worked like 70 hours a week when you first got your job, and are likely continuing to run the rate race today.

It's funny that each thread about a big achievement has the potential to involve Flight_Risk hate, and it usually comes when you least expect it.

Des, in all seriousness, when I was 18 I thought I was entering college to learn to become the guy to crack the protein code and develop the first molecular nanotechnology robots (for further reading, google Eric Drexler). Since I was partying too much to ever make that a reality EVEN if I was as smart as I thought I was, that never panned out quite as planned. Just because I happen to be unhappy with my lot in life later, that previous ambition or pie in the sky dream doesn't give me the proper footing to write to the journal Nature and say, "Those scientists now aren't THAT good. I'm sure I could have cured cancer if I had only not (been an alcoholic in college|had a family|knew how to read| excuses|excuses|excuses).

Doing that just shows a level of insecurity with one's lot in life that's not flattering. And please, don't blame your family.

BTW, bigjoe, nice job at the 500K. That's sick [censored] but its making me uncomfortable with my lot in life so I'd appreciate you slowing down.

You can't compare Dali's expereince to mine. In 2004, he was playing $215 SNGs on Party; I had just discovered the $5.50s on Stars. I was working 2 other jobs when our son was born and my wife was not working when I first started doing well in the 215's. 4 months later, I quit my FT job, (selling tires, WHEEE!) and only DJ'd weddings and poker then. I quit DJ'ing weddings about a year later. While I do have the luxury of having a wife who makes good $$$, I have always brought in my own $$$ too. So no, I was never really, and still really am not, a stay-at-home dad, other than the fact that I watch my kids alot and work at home.

I don't have time to play 3000 SNGs a month (chasing leaderboard points), devote hours to mastering ICM or ranges in SNGPT, or be on 2+2 all day. I've been playing SNGs since late 2003. If you add up all the time I've played since then, it probably equals less than a year of grinding by bigjoe. Trust me, if I had the kind of time on my hands that these guys do, it's no doubt in my mind that I'd be better than all of them.
