I am so looking forward to Sunday night's Top Gear on UK channel BBC2. Last week's was a classic, but the ads for this week are showing them taking a 3-wheel car and welding it to a rocket to use as a cockpit.

So one of these:

http://auta5p.car.cz/katalog/reliant/robin_01.jpg

becomes one of these:

Now that's what I call top telly.

What a terrible poker scene at the end of Numb3rs.
In short heads up at the end of what I am guessing must a been a STT and the blinds are 50-100.

HORRIBLE!!!

What are you watching?
Saturday, February 17th

Saturday night and not much on TV, except some repeats and movies.
A good night to actually get out and have some fun.

Some stuff I won't be watching, but others might be interested in...

ABC 8pm - Cast Away - If you are in, watch Tom Hanks on an Island

BBC America 9pm - The State Within - I've never watched anything on this
channel, but this 3-part miniseries is supposed to be 24 like.

TNT 11pm - Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2007 - No comments necessary...

Aw crap, I didn't even know that Amazing Race was on tonight I love that show.

I watched Grease (go Laura ), The Apprentice and Brothers and Sisters. Man that last show is so good. I love the acting, particularly the guys who play the 3 brothers - just really impressive.

From Top Gear a few weeks back, a little snippet where 3 English guys decide to drive through Alabama with stuff like 'Man-Love Rules OK' written in big letters on their car:

I'm keeping an eye out for a snippet of the car-rocket they built - it was on last night, and very good it was too.

Time for me to watch Veronica Mars tonight.

I really like this show and wish I understood why more people don't like it. I actually like how the show has evolved too (which is a big problem I guess for most diehard fans)...

It is going on hiatus for 8 weeks starting in March I read on some forum....I think this show is almost done...which is unfortunate becuase I look forward to it as much or more than Lost at this point.

Yeah I agree with you. It did seem really short and pretty stupid too. All contained in one show? I thought it was two.

Tonight's show was pretty fun. Of the 12 male finalists my favorite was Blake. Very very nice delivery. "Somewhere Only We Know". Really pretty song.

I also kind of liked Brandon and I think Jared has potential.

A little disappointing was Sundance Head. What a name. He did the beautiful "Nights in White Satin" but kind of botched it. Some very iffy notes in there.

Oh my God the judges were harsh. Wow. That Simon is out of control. I hate that guy. Why do I find him attractive?

Anyway, I'm good at spotting winners. My early pick is Blake.

Here's what happened....After I made the above post, upstairs I go (my man-cave is downstairs) and lo & behold, what do you think is on the TV, with my wife & daughter watching?

I made one of my typical elitist, acerbic comments about American Idle (intentional mis-spell) and precipitated a mini-riot.

O well.....back to my man cave and MSNBC with my tail between my legs.

And yes, I did watch ten minutes or so of it while I ate a couple of brownies!

OK.....Here it is.

On a cold winters day, a farmer happened to find a snake outside in the snow that was apparently freezing to death.

The farmer, being a kindly gent, took the snake home and placed him on a blanket in front of his fireplace.

Within a few minutes, the snake revived, and promptly bit the farmer.

As the farmer recoiled in shock & horror, he asked the snake "How could you do such a thing after I just saved your life"?

The snake replied in a matter of fact manner.....

"What did you expect? I'm a snake.....it's in my nature".

I'm constantly amazed at the amount of time that everybody else has for TV. I'm jealous, in a way. You guys, my neighbors, my coworkers, and even my wife are always talking about these shows I've never seen and probably never will. I only watch the office and scrubs. These two shows are great, and I'm sure there's more good stuff out there, but honestly who has the time for all this TV?
