Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

Hi all, I want to move money from party to stars/tilt but I cant withdraw on party to moneyboookers until I deposit there first but I have no real way to fund my moneybooker account since my credit cards are in canadian dollars and it needs to be verified in US.

Can someone trade me some moneybooker money for money on a poker site? (assuming moneybookers do P2P xfers?)

I dont need much, just enough to deposit to party so I can start withdrawing.

Thanks.

So I just had a ridiculous encounter with Instadebit. I asked both their online chat cs rep and a telephone cs rep about the verification deposit that was supposed to have been made to my bank account. This is clearly outlined on their website here, under the VERIFYING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT
Header. Both agents had no idea what I was talking about, and just kept saying 'we don't make verification deposits' until I pointed them to their own webpage which contradicted them. At this point I got the 'contact security@instadebit.com' schpiel.

I only care about verification because it's supposed to result in increased transaction limits. I'm supposed to get an email from a rep (one who'se hopefully in the know) tomorrow, I'll post back with a TR.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you get that sorted out yet? I created my Instadebit account on May 7th and the verifcation deposit just showed up on my online banking statement. I entered in the amount at Instadebit and my 7-day limit is now $1000.

Will provide a trip report on the withdrawl back to the bank account once my Empire Casino cashout is processed.

[/ QUOTE ]

Instadebit is great. In less than a week I was able to set up an account, make a withdrawal from AP, and have it show up in my bank account.

I've found them to be great, but the situation you describe is quite odd. When you deposited on to MB via CC, you did check the box that the funds WOULD be used for gaming, I hope? If so, I'd contact MB, hopefully it's just a mixup.

I checked that it would be for gaming.

I have emailed them - but of course it appears they are a Mon-Fri operation.

I haven't requested one yet myself but cardman's post earlier in this thread stated it took 3 weeks. Another of his reports said wires took 3-7 days.

If anyone else has MB trip reports I'm eager to read them.

correction. citizen's bank for incoming wires is not free. they gave me a crappy conversion of 1.08, and $5 fee.

Does anyone know the address of Commerzbank? I tried to send a wire transfer from the Royal Bank to Moneybookers, and they said that they need to know the address of both the bank and the recepient. Seems kinda BS, but if thats what they need... has anyone else had this problem?

I found Moneybookers addy, but the Commerzbank website is bare of any corporate HQ addy.

Edit - NM. Found it on their contact page. German address formats are tough to spot I guess.

Today in reply on my request FTP ( Full Tilt Poker ) support answered the following:

"Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.
I can confirm that players are able to withdraw with a Moneybookers account. Before being able to withdraw to a Moneybookers account or any other payment processor, you will need to make a deposit through it first. ..."

Though I'm not canadian, I believe it does not matter (regarding the subject ).

That should work fine, I imagine that's what most people are doing. Not to say there couldn't be the occasional site that pulls a UB and gives you a hard time, but you should be fine at most (if not all) sites.

Good to hear. For others, there are a couple of other ideas in the brief FAQ on page 1 of this thread. There are a few sites that let you cashout to MB without the deposit, and PokerSavvy can be useful as well.

Any luck with your C2P card yet?

Quick Moneybookers question:

I am waiting for the letter to verify my address. After I've done this I'm wondering:

Can I cash a few hundred out from Stars into Moneybookers and put it in Full Tilt ... (hmm, if FT uses Moneybookers... I haven't checked yet) IF I have never deposited anything into moneybookers from my bank or CC? (I'm not interested in funding it from either as I have a lot of money in Stars)

Odd...I've never had a problem using my CIBC Visa the few times I've used it online...I used it to start my Click2Pay, for instance. I actually funded MB wih PokerSavvy. Two suggestions - maybe if you contact Party and explain how you need to cashout to a different method since NT no longer works, they might make an exception. Failing that, there is the person to person transfer thread.

The problem is, it's standard security at most poker sites not to allow you to cashout to a funding method you haven't deposited with. From previous posts, I believe you're quite the regular at Stars...maybe if you call or email they can make an exception? I don't think you should have any problem on the MB end of things...I recieved money on MB from PokerSavvy without ever depositing to it.

I'm really dissappointed to hear that because I was waiting for my card and thought I'd be able to take some money out quickly.

I'm really at a loss what to do right now. Last month I deposited 2 checks while I was at my parents, close to the middle of nowhere. It was TD and I got a call next day telling me they wouldn't except the checks. Basically, my parents live in a borderline retardville/hickish town and either they got some idea the checks were forged or, as they told me, they were too stupid to cash international checks. After complaining to TD, etc, etc nobody outside that branch can really understand why they won't take it. But, with a big cancel sign on the back I have to wait 8 weeks for them to clear now. It seems Click2pay won't help me much either right now and from what I hear I don't think I'll use them.

So that leaves Moneybookers and ePassporte, both of which sounded mediocre to me (I wouldn't mind changing banks either as TD is very poor service).

1 - I gather that with Moneybookers I'm left with little options but bank wire and the limits aren't that high unless I do all the verifications. I also would have to look at opening a new bank account which is another pain right now.

2 - ePassporte looks crappy as well. 50 dollar fee for bank wires and transaction limits are even worse? Maybe the card is better than click2pay though?

It's getting a little frustrating at this point as I haven't had any money out since Neteller left. Is Moneybookers the way to go? I don't need to fund once I'm verified as I have plenty of money online. Should I open ePassporte as well and use their debit card feature? I'm a little confused what the limits are on that as well.

Thank You,

GrindingIt

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

if you're gonna sign up for a new bank account, make sure you do so with a bank that's not a correspondent bank.

e.g. PC Financial is fairly popular because it's free everything. but they go through CIBC, so moneybookers will not be able to send you money (i tried).

Citizen's Bank will accept incoming wires. i've tried and it works. they charge $5 incoming, which is a lot cheaper than the rest. but at the time they gave me crappy 1.08 conversion when it should have been 1.10.

party's EFT is still by far the best to get money out. speaking of which, i am VERY impressed. i cashed out last night, and the money hit my account today. TODAY!!!! and add to the fact that i got 1.10, which is what the exchange is.

ok i was able to verify my credit card & address and my bank account is registered and I uploaded money by verifying my address instead of figuring out how much bank deposit was in Canadian. I went to deposit money to a poker site and found out my money is locked until:

I wouldn't assume that because one person had to, that everyone will. There might have been a policy change that means you do, or it might have been a random security check.

Sorry to hear some of you are having such a bad experience with MB. I've found them to be great. My experience went like this - opened account, verified NOTHING. I had lots of points at PokerSavvy from promos I had done, so I cashed those in for $$ on MB. I've used it ever since with NO problems (except for right at the beginning when Party & UB both "lost" my initial $20 deposits for a week). I have since verified my CC and address to increase my limits...still haven't bothered to verify my bank account. Like Hypermegachi said, Party EFT is a great way to cash out. Until I hear of a better option, that's what I'm using.

How is Click2Pay for you guys? I have used them previously in the past and 3 out of 4 times there was no problem and the money was in my debit card in usually less than 24 hours. Now I try using them again and they said there a problem with their debit card issuer and the money will be put back in your account and you can request a withdrawal to the debit card again. 2nd time this has happened to me so currently the stats with C2P are 3 successful out of 5. They would be really good if they didn't have these problems. Anybody heard any other news? I hope they don't close shop cause it's my only way to get money offline.

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

So this process of getting money from Neteller to Moneybookers is growing more and more difficult. I finally have money in MB and deposited it at Party. I then deposited money from Neteller to Party. I then tried to cash it all out to MB as I understood this was possible. They just sent me an alert email saying i could only cash out the amount of my neteller deposit to neteller.

Suggestions on method to get the money from one to another?
