Re: My Story regarding the San Diego Fire- long

thanks for sharing the stories.

i'll be in san diego next week friday for a conference at the convention center. i'll be there from Nov 2-10.

can anyone tell what the scene is like downtown, gas lamp district, near the convention center, etc... or what it might be like in a week.

also... whats it gonna be like to drive up the coast to pacific beach, or something like that. i've heard the smoke will be coming in... anyway. any impressions would be greatly appreciated.

all the best guys, i hope everything works out ok for those there.

I can't believe the fire moves that fast, I had no idea.

Having just been to San Diego for a holiday (my gf and I both really loved the city), I was very sad to see what's been happening over there. Thanks for telling your stories guys, it's all the more touching to read personal accounts.

Thanks for sharing, glad you guys had a plan and stuck to it - it makes a world of difference.

Be sure to report in when you get back home. I've personally never seen a wildfire or anything, pictures would be neat.

Do you think watering the house down is what kept it from completely burning?

Absolutely, there is no question the time i spent doing this saved my house I've taking pictures and as soon as I have time to download I will have them up.

I haven't been keeping up with the news about the fire(s)

I have a few friends that live in Alpine and El Cajon that I haven't talked to for a few weeks. Did the fire reach either of those areas and if so how bad was it?

Alpine and El Cajon were in danger, but I think ultimately they came through okay. Not 100% sure though.

BlueEcho or UCLA, do you know if La Mesa was hit at all? One of my best friends who I grew up with here in Pennsylvania lives in La Mesa and I don't have his number to call him.

I think all of La Mesa came through fine.
