He's not worried about the symbolism. The idea that Jews should lead the charge is a practicality thing.

The point is that the shape of a building is arbitrary, but the donation could theoretically do some actual good.

I never thought I'd say this, but most of the posts here commit the broken window fallacy. If none of you are worried about the symbolism, then we would have to look at whether it would be better to spend the money on A. Trees, B. Jewish charities or C. Whatever else the navy would spend the money on.

Ahem. Many people have known about this building for a long time, along with all the other Nazi, New World Order, and Masonic imagery that appears in many government buildings. I have a very hard time believing this was an accident.

While I'm not a fan of the state, in this instance, I think the navy should spend the money allocated to it on, you know, navy stuff.

What's your point? Are you saying that since the feds already give to charity that it somehow becomes better to waste $600K than to use it for yet more charity? I don't see the coherency behind this reply.

I assume it is inadvertant. If it wasn't I would probably change my suggestion.

I also assume that the 600K that they plan to spend is only as a gesture to Jews.

Given those two assumptions I think Jews should say something like "We appreciate the gesture. But it isn't necessary and perhaps a bit silly. Meanwhile if you were prepared to spend that much money on our behalf then go ahead and give it to xxx instead."
