Holy shit, I never would have guessed that tuq was a profanity filter n00b.

I thought tempbans for direct profanity filter violations is SOP.

Personally I never ban anyone on the first offense for minor violations like this. Usually, people don't even know its against the rules. There really isn't a reason to ban someone that warn + delete can't handle, since most people are cooperative when informed of the rules.

Dibs,

"I think we're on the same page gildy, as explained above."

Wtf are you talking about? You just said that you ban for bypassing the filter to write f-u-c-k but don't ban for pics unless you think there's "malice" or something.

Even though Mason wants the profanity filter intact, I can assure you that he would rather people be warned for their first offenses than banned.

Just something to keep in mind.

I guess someone could drop it into paint and alter the image to comply, but that's a hassle.

I totally did that like 2 hours ago.

El D,

Perhaps he trying to say that the 'malice' part means it takes effort to circumvent the filter, but with posting a pic the user might've been so caught up in the hilarity that he didn't stop and think, 'oops, there's a bad word in there.' I might be reaching here but the humor in the cat picture doesm't lie in the word [censored] so I can see it being overlooked.

CC,

LOL!

You can't compare yourself to others. You're like the Tiger Woods of MS Paint. For example, I could do it but I don't know how to turn those letters into perfect dashes like that, and my crappy edit would probably take a lot longer too.

EDIT to add: I agree with your premise about not knowing/thinking about the violation in picture profanity, and as I said upthread I really have never known the site policy on that. No matter how much sense El D makes, it doesn't change that I've seen pics with profanity in them too often to make the policy obvious (and I really doubt "picture profanity" is discussed in the T&C).
