life is about sacrafices and if poker is that important to you, you'll have to sacrifice either the gym, socializing with friends, parties, and maybe even school (not in any specific order). sure, you won the million tourney and that's all good but where do you go from here? don't look short term, look long term. will you be happy grinding it, day in and day out, online or in a casino playing poker? or do you have aspirations of being a more productive member in society? gamblings a honest living, but also a self-involving one, unless you acquire enough weath to enable yourself to become a philanthropist. here's a thought, purchase a home or real-estate. there are a ton of foreclosures which will drive the market down shortly. everyone can give you advice, in the end it's your decision to make and yours alone. good luck.

This thread is hilarious.

OP: I agree with Albert, you wont be getting top grades if you still play a lot of poker(which you have to do in order to stay on top and make a lot of cash) so I think you gotta give priority to either studies or poker.

Man, honestly I don't know why all you guys that can beat mid stakes are still in school. I finished school and am currently not using my degree for jack [censored]. I don't think alot of you realize how good we have it. You can always go back and get your degree if u want, but there may come a day when we can't play online poker and you will have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of dollars for some stupid sheet of paper that you could have gone back to get anyways.

I know 99.99% of this forum disagrees w/ me, but I think right now the money is more important than the degree. I finished up school while party poker was still around, and I'd give anything to go back and play another million hands on party instead of going to [censored] class. Don't get me wrong, the college atmosphere is a TON of fun, but you can still live a college lifestyle w/ all your friends, go to all the parties, but isntead of going to class, put in the hours getting hands in, you can make in 2 years what most of your friends will make their first decade out of school.....

As I said, I know most disagree, but that's just my 2 cents

[/ QUOTE ] Wow this is a really good point, i guess if you think of it in economic terms good players staying in school have a high opprotunity cost. FYI to all the people in this thread, my sn is hockeystud94. so obv middle stakes MSNL players who play those games would know that i was doing well and making a lot of money be4 i won this poker tournament, people just cant seem to grasp this point.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks do you advise investing in the stock market as well? This issue is so tough because last year i played poker and it effected my grades for sure, and i want to do it all, does anyone know here just how hard it is to get your degree after being away for a few years, i was under the impression this was really hard to do.

also, i can assure that 166 buy ins at 5-10 and the million are different. the reasno is the expected value of future earnings.

i have done one of those two things, and you have done the other.

that is the difference, it's a big one, DUCY?
