i like colombo's idea, maybe i'd raise flop and try to get it allin against axss, but bear in mind 17/14 is pretty nitty... stuff lke 9Tss probably isn't in his range, which is why i don't think it's as clear-cut as some are making it out to be. i do retract my comment about him not getting it in with worse though.

i really see no reason at ALL to raise the turn. just think about his current range + his calling range. stuff like "the board is getting ugly" or super-advanced metagame stuff against a guy who is a complete nit are nonsense to me. he's essentially set-mining so he obviously doesn't care about them, so why should you bother balancing your ranges against someone who doesn't balance his?

How does this card change anything? If I was ahead before, I am still ahead now, right? If I was behind before, I'm still behind, right?

The difference is that if he has a draw, his equity has dramatically changed. If our reason for not raising this turn is out of fear of being behind, we shouldn't even be calling in the first place. stick ur neck out.

Unfamiliar with the villain but I think a flop raise is pretty bad; with his stats I'd expect to see strong draws and sets.

I'm torn on the turn, although your equity improved a lot against much of his range (not because of the Q, but because it didn't make his draws), raising pretty much lets him play perfectly, shoving boats and folding draws.
