Raise more preflop ($6). Bet pot on the flop ($12)... In that case we commit on the flop leaving about one PSB for the turn and cannot be raised off our hand.

Because of pot/stack sizes. If you bet the turn then any raise is essentially a min raise. You've committed yourself and can no longer fold.
