As someone who only started watching poker on TV a year ago, WPT isn't *that bad.* Yeah it's cheesy at times, but they do a good job of entertaining people who don't have a big understanding of poker. My wife doesn't mind when I watch the WPT events off the DVR. She watches them with me, but doesn't even know how to play. She will ask a lot of questions, but that's to be expected.

I'm not trying to defend all the crazy stuff WPT does, but they do a good job of entertaining people who may not otherwise watch poker on TV. I will say that Mike Sexton is way better at playing poker than commentating, though. Guess we'll see what happens with the WPT next year when they move to GSN.

Overall, I'd rather watch a bad poker show on TV than a *good* reality tv show.

just for the record i will state that i [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] the WPT because its the show that first got me interested in poker. but i would also like to state...

The most annoying thing is that they keep calling chips "dollars".
