Ok, here's the srsrs answer from somebody (me) that actually srsrly for a brief second wondered this same thing. Sorry if tl;dr but that's how I roll sometimes.

You just notice it right after you cashout because, after all the countless jokes made about ZOMG CASHOUT CURSE and ZOMG RIGGED, this stuff is now embedded in your subconscious.

Since the legislation my cashout habits have changed (pre legislation it was a few huge cashouts and a ton of small ones, post- it is monthly or twice monthly medium cashouts) and every time since, right after i've cashed out, i'd get hit with a hellish 500 or 1000 hands.

ZOMG EVIDENCE! But not really. 500 hands of hell is soo standard that the only time I really even noticed was right after I cashed out, until one rough patch very recently I was in a foul mood, snapped, and said ZOMG COULD IT BE TRUE?!?!? However, it didn't take long for me to realize the folly of my thinking.

Long story short, there are no curses save for the ones we create ourselves by being overly superstitious.

P.S. If some noob thinks this mini-essay has merit and wants to x-post it to beginner's forum or psych or wherever, feel free.

I'll say this Chumpchange, I posted this to see what some would say...VERY nicely explained reasoning and you are right on! When you are aware something might happen, however unreasonable, you pay extra attention. Now the beats you get that normally you dont notice, you do!
