I think someone offered a $1 million prize to reproduce the experiment in a double-blind study under laboratory conditions... Forget where I read this though.

Probably James Randi, he has a standing offer to that effect for any paranormal or supernatural occurance.

I am not sure on these exact quote.... But supposedly this was a legit experiment in Japan.... Who knows.... Check out the movie, if you want the exact quote..... Some of it sure does make you wonder, but it is interesting stuff.....

This is complete bunk. You are doing yourself a HUGE disservice by spending your time learning pseudo-science. There are many things in real science that are far more deep/interesting/intellectually challenging than this.

Right on. If they'd said that the bottles had different chemical compounds and identified them it might have credibility. Chemically water is water, H20, and that is that.

I actually found that argument to be a little unconvincing. It presented a highly plausible chain of events which if true would show a causal relationship, but it failed to back that up with rigorous research. Having said that, I do actualy reckon it's probably (if only partially) true - just that Freakonomics does not prove or strongly back it up.
That's based on reading it in an airport waiting lounge, mind you, so maybe there was something in the index/afterword that backed it up.

that movie is new age garbage. you would be equally credible quoting 'the secret'.
