Knife if the guys knows what he's doing. A Bat is useless at close range.

[/ QUOTE ]as is a knife at long range?

But he's also been getting his ass kicked by cake and cheese fries for the last 10 to 12 years.

Ugh. I was sort of excited because I thought you meant a bat, as in a flying bat, and that would have at least been the least bit interesting.

[/ QUOTE ]

using like a vampire bat as a weapon? that would be interesting.

You just aren't thinking enough; a bat is most certainly not useless at close range.

Also, I get to parry with the bat -- hows that knife looking again?

A baseball bat requires keeping your opponent at arms length, if the person with the Knife can close the gap he's the stone cold nuts.

don't even start this up again. It was a huge thread, and nobody was able to change anybody's mind about anything.

But seriously, the bat wins.

what he said

There's no way to change anyones mind except to get a friend, one with a fake knife and one with a fake bat. Fight until someone gets a blow in that would injure the other enough that they're going to lose.

if the competition is losing at life, then yes, it's a tie.

Saying a bat is useless at close range is really dumb. It's not as useful as a situation where you have some space to swing, but I'd rather have a bat at close range than bare hands or, frankly, a lot of weapons.

5 feet -- Bat high value; knife no value
4 feet -- Bat high value; knife little/no value (depending on reach)
3 feet -- bat mid value; knife little/mid value
2 feet and closer -- bat mid value; knife potentially high value (though, it depends a lot on the wielder)

The biggest mistake people seem to be making is to assume that if you take the bat you automatically turn slow, clumsy, and stupid and if you take the knife you are suddenly lightening fast and a brilliant fight strategist.
