Too easy?

Pimp hand, son.

This is off the subject but I was just curious. What casino was this at? Is $6/12 the lowest stakes available or are there lower and higher stakes for O8?

HG. They also have a $3-6. There are no higher stakes I am aware of. The full kill is in effect often.

Look, the deal is most of these guys are professional business people of some sort...self employed, doctors, etc. They are not dumb at all. But they are bad poker players. Still they are aware of some things(like this blabbermouth). Some of them refuse to play with one of the tighter players there...who also happens to be a decent person..not the typical omaha player ....but last time this tight player came in the game, two players explicitly stated they would not play if that player was in the game and got up and left.

Using an insulting term like donkey in front of people like this is not good at all for the game. Loosing a couple of the looser players makes Omaha 8 a bad game.

The OP is being a nit. The other players in a casino are under no obligation to help you win money.

What if the girlfriend started talking poker strategy to her boyfriend (about a hand at another table)? The other players might suddenly awaken to the fact that there is strategy in poker and start playing better! How inconsiderate!

Players shouldn't berate the play of others. But that's because by doing so they are being rude to the person they are criticizing and making the room a less pleasant place to play in. But they don't have to factor your win rate into the decision about what is rude and what isn't.

I agree and I also have found that it is impossible to make my wife STFU. Any attempts to do this result in an increase in her noise, or force me to pay bribes at a later date (money, flowers, sitting through an Opera, etc). Sorry, but I'm not doing this for your benefit unless you are willing to re-imburse me for the cost.

Regardless of whether or not they become interested in what a donkey actually is, the point is that there is about a 95% chance that they will remain a donkey if they already are in that category. People don't suddenly improve when hearing strategy discussed after calling turns with K664 on a board of A-K-8-8 because they feel they "might" win half the pot.

That's a raise, right?
