No, I'm going for a Professional Science Master's in Applied Genomics - which I am actually pretty stoked about. After getting a B.S. in biology and not being too thrilled with the job prospects, I found this program; I'm looking to get involved in either the business end of the biotech industry or possibly patent law.

If anyone has experience in this field I'd definitely be interested; I'm trying to hopefully find an internship by the summer but still am not sure exactly what I'd like to get into.

The class is Human Genetics - which is required by several different majors, including Pre-Med.

TA = teaching assistant

In bigger classes, there's often a couple of lectures per week which are taught by the professor (at my school they'll be up to 250 students in a lecture hall), as well as either a lab or a discussion, which typically have only 10 or 20 students and are taught by a TA, who is a grad student studying something relevant to the class.

I got very lucky as I'll be teaching a discussion session - a 50 minute class where there's usually a problem set or some sort of group work. The labs are a pain in the arse to TA; they're 2 or 3 hours long with a lot of setup and clean up.

TA's also would help professors in proctoring exams, correcting exams and assignments, etc.

Beat: TA's are generally strictly prohibited from dating undergrads... (but only during the semester. holla.)
