Mormons believe that Native Americans are descended from a group of jews who came to North America in 600 B.C. and became so wicked and evil that god cursed them with dark skin.

That is only the tip of the iceberg wrt to their ridiculous worldview. Who is going to vote for that for president? Believe me if he gets the nomination it will all come out. He'll be confronted about every ridiculous aspect of mormonism and have to address why he subscribes to that kind of nonsense.

natedogg - Great point. Clearly this is more ridiculous than believing that a Supreme Being housed part of itself in flesh, was birthed by a virgin, and then was sacrificed to atone for all of the world's sins.

It doesnt matter that they are both ridiculous. Those who believe the Christian myths outnumber those who believe the Mormon myths (to the extent they differ) in sufficient quantities to ensure his defeat.

I live in a small town in Utah, and one of the reasons we choose to moved here from Vegas was due to the great family spirit and neighborly regard provided by the 85% LDS community.

That being said, as a christian non-mormon I would never vote for Romney in the primary here or General election do to my concern over Salt Lakes influence on his choices for staff and federal appointments.

In fact I would vote for a Dem in the general election before casting a ballot for him.

This being stated on for Senate I have voted for both Reid and Hatch in the past with 0 regret.

Not that its a huge deal, but I was a member of the Mormon Chuch untilt he age of 15. Unless you learn that the Indians were Jews cursed by god in the latter years of seminary, I doubt this belief. I also once read that Mormon's believe that if you go to heaven you get your own planet to be god over.

There really aren't a lot of differences between Mormons and other Protestants. Mormons are a Christian faith and most use the King James Version of the Bible.

I don't pretend to be an expert on the church. These are just my experiences with it.

I grew up as a Mormon in Salt Lake, and you should definitely have studied your own religion a bit more thoroughly. Did you even read the D&C?

Yes, statements like these are oversimplifications. But they're still "basically" true.
