Part of the problem is that (please someone orrect me if i'm wrong, but i think i'm not) a website operator can be held responsible when someone is harassed through or because of that webpage. So posting someone's private contact info here *in an effort to get them harassed* (which is, I'm >50% sure, a criminal activity), extends the liability onto the website operator.

This is the sort of thing that is exactly what IP banning should be used for. 2+2 has no responsibility to forgive people for their mistakes or not remove them from "the culture" on a permanent basis if they [censored] up.

People who incite and carry out the trainwrecks are pretty close to the worst subset of people on this board, protecting them while they are trying to make 2+2 subject to lawsuits with all their might seems pretty stupid.

RB and I were PMing about a solution to this, he hasn't replied to my last one, but basically what I requested is that if admins want to make this a policy, then OOt mods will simply move any trainwrecked threads to this forum and let admins do the necessary IP checks / bannings.

The 36DD thread was deleted in OOT? Did someone trainwreck it? Seemed like a decent trip report was about to be filed. It is getting some attention in ATF.

nobody has owned up to deleting this thread that i know of, i am curious as well

i think that OP actually asked to get it deleted discreetly and the whole 'i have a trip report' part was bluff on his part, because he asked me about it and then never PM'd me back.
