It's a service industry, they should treat tournament players as if they were customers in a restaurant.

Exactly my point, now it is more like "He is a pain in the ass, lets get him out of here!"

If I was trying to (enjoy my dinner)/(play in a poker tournament), and some loudmouth started complaining that he wanted a refund, I'd want him out of the (restaurant)/(venue) ASAP. THAT'S customer service.

Oh I think that the floor should have little to no right to assess a penalty, or should only give one in EXTREME circumstances. It's a service industry, they should treat tournament players as if they were customers in a restaurant.

WTF people, the guy stood up and started yelling that he wasn't playing and demanded a refund.

What are they supposed to do except give him a penalty to give him time to cool down, and get him out of the room so play can continue?

Get a grip, the guy was being an a-hole and got what he deserved.

I dont knw, give him his money so he would have left on his own accord? I read alot of posts by Harry over the last few years, I doubt we are hearing everything that got him so heated up to go out yelling.

[/ QUOTE ]

Riiight. Then have fun handling the riot when 30 other nits start demanding their money back also.

I think that its possible that the disgraceful way that Harrah's has handled many issues so far this year boiled over with Harry and he just went off. I dont blame him at all.

10-6-10 would make more sense since 10% of the field gets paid.

[/ QUOTE ]

Right--it's approximately what they used last year with the Limit Hold'em shooutout (10-5-9). I guess Harrah's wanted to pay more people this year.

sorry to jump OT, but do you remember the blind/starting chip structure in the limit event last year?

i read that one table was won in 45 minutes in the nlhe event. it makes me worried about shootout structures.

Exactly! What if everybody else started raising hell like a third grader? If he had handled it like a man instead of a child, he probably wouldn't have been thrown out.

If I'm playing in a tourney and some idiot starts yelling, I want him thrown out so the rest of us can play poker.

Appart from Chip winning the HORSE event, WSOP 2006 has to be the worst one yet. Even worse than 2005!

Looking back at the 2005 $1,500 NL shootout, it started at 25-25.
One of the CP Updates mentioned that John Phan (I believe) said the table was playing as if they were on the Internet, to explain the fast pace. Also, aren't the levels at 60 minutes?
