What are the benefits of this apart from minty fresh breath?

If we're taking about health benefits, I would say there are only negatives. The preservatives and artificial sweeteners aren't good for you. Some claim it can cause headaches and wear and tear on the jaw cartilage.

Having said that it isn't the worst thing for you, but certainly not good for you.

Suppesdly it fakes you into feeling full because of the jaw work

Really, just the opposite is true for me. I start chewing and my stomach starts asking, "You're chewing, now where the hell is the food?"

Beats the hell out of chewing tobacco or cigarettes , and personally it helps me when trying to think or recollect something.

From Jah the ripped squirrel:

***Increase "little" things for big results: Do mini-calf raises at your desk. Park far away from the office. Take the stairs at all times. Do pushups at commercials of TV shows. Play with your kids outside instead of in a confined space. CHEW GUM. It may not seem like much, but it will add up big time!
