I always get semi-wood for Apple products even if they aren't practical for me. I was looking for any excuse to grab an iPhone recently but decided to go for a MSFT-based phone instead since I can write and install crap. I hate carrying around a bunch of gadgetry feeling like I'm competing with Batman's utility belt.

Probably smart to have a phone separate for battery reasons, though. Smart phone + media player might be better for this reason alone.

The new Ipod is to be announced today in San Francisco, though everything we have hear so far is speculation. Best Buy and Costco haven't received new shipments of Ipods for over 2 weeks, so something big is coming down the pipes.
